Oswego Defeats Hawks in Men’s Soccer

OSWEGO, NY- The SUNY New Paltz men’s soccer team fell to the host Oswego State Friday evening by the score of 2-1 on Laker Field.

The teams played to scoreless first half with neither team recording a shot.

In the 52nd minute, the Lakers netted the first goal of the game when German Collazo and Bryan Pacchiana hooked-up with Max Guliani for the 1-0 advantage.

Dave Baldanza would score the game-winning goal in the 85th minute after beating Hawks keeper Tom Viscardi.

Nicholas DiPaolo tallied his third assist of the season when he hooked-up with Lucas Natel with one second left. It was Natel’s second goal of the season.

Matt Wopperer recorded the win in net, saving two shots in 87:25 minutes played. Nick Liberati played the final 2:35 of the game allowed one goal. Oswego improves to 5-8-1 overall and 4-3-1 in the SUNYAC.

Tom Viscardi recorded the loss in net, saving three shots on the evening. New Paltz falls to 6-9-2 overall and 1-7-0 in the SUNYAC. The Hawks wrap-up conference play tomorrow against Cortland at 1 p.m. on the campus of Cortland.
