The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has announced the Spring 2009 Commissioner’s List and All-Academic Team. Sixty-two SUNY New Paltz student athletes earned SUNYAC All-Academic recognition for having a fall semester grade point average of 3.3 or higher. The number represents 41% of all spring student-athletes at New Paltz. The Hawks posted 19 names on the SUNYAC Commissioner’s List for maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.3 or higher for three consecutive semesters.
SUNY New Paltz had 72.59% of student-athletes from the 2008-2009 year earn a grade point average of 3.0 or higher for the spring of 2009 and 47.88% had a GPA of 3.33 or higher. The male student-athletes combined for a GPA of 3.08 and the female student-athletes had a combined GPA of 3.42. In addition, 13 student-athletes earned a perfect 4.0 for the spring semester.
