Potsdam scores seven goals in the second half to pull away

POTSDAM, NY–  The SUNY New Paltz women’s lacrosse team traveled to conference opponent Potsdam Tuesday evening and fell to the Bears 12-2.  Seven second half goals help the Bears pull away from the Hawks for the victory.  The Hawks trailed 5-2 at the half before a second half surge for the Bears.

Potsdam was led by Molly Lehman-Lewis with three goals, three groundballs and three draw controls.  Ashley Bordignon and Carly Richards each tallied two goals.  Richards also tallied three two assists and Kelsey Shoen tallied one goal and three assists.

Kaci Milligan recorded the win in net allowing two goals and saving two shots in 30 minutes of play.  Sarah Sweeny played 30 minutes and made two saves and Potsdam improves to 6-3 overall.

Samantha DelGaudio (Northport, NY/Northport) and Brittany Bennett (Smithtown, NY/Smithtown West) each tallied one goal for the Hawks.

Lorraine Vultaggio (Babylon, NY/Miller Place) recorded the loss in net making ten saves and allowing 12 goals.  New Paltz falls to 2-6 overall and 0-3 in the SUNYAC.

The Hawks return to the field Aprill 11 against Brockport at 12 p.m. on the campus of SUNY Brockport.
