ONEONTA, NY- The SUNY New Paltz women’s lacrosse team finished their first season since 2003. The Hawks fell to Oneonta 23-1 and conclude the season at 2-13 overall and 0-9 in the SUNYAC.
Rebecca Monteith led the Red Dragons with seven goals and assisted on one goal. Lauren Portnot netted five goals and Rosemarie Fazio netted four goals and assisted on two. Brianne Ruzek had a game-high five assists.
Freshman Sam DelGaudio (Northport, NY/Northport) scored the lone goal for the Hawks in the first half.
Annelise Muscietta recorded the win in net saving six shots and allowing one goal. Oneonta improves to 10-5 overall and 7-2 in the SUNYAC.
Senior Lorraine Vultaggio (Babylon, NY/Miller Place) recorded the loss in net allowing 19 goals and saving 16 shots. Freshman Maggie DeLauter (Bellmore, NY/Mepham) played the final 10:42 minutes and allowed four goals and saved one shot.
