Gentsch and Stulov Pace Hawks at Silfen Invite

The New Paltz cross country team traveled to Connecticut College in New London, CT on Saturday to compete in the spring season Silfen Track & Field Invitational.

Sophomore Joe Gentsch provided the best finish of the day as he placed second in the 1500 meters in a time of 4:10.12. Dan Caruso (4:38.85), Doug Templeton (4:43.30) and Robert Webster (4:50.12) also competed in the event. First year Dexter Larson took 11th in the 5000 meters in a time of 17:03.38 and Mike Zelensky finished in 18:31.93. Gentsch anchored the 4×800 meter relay of Caruso, Webster and Templeton for a time of 9:00.75.

On the women’s side, Olga Stulov finished seventh in the 1500 meters in 5:15.88, Lori Brown took 12th (5:21.52) and Danielle Harmon crossed 14th (5:23.02). The trio teamed with Alex Berenis in the 4×800 relay and finished in a time of 10:31.80. First year Kristina Rolla clocked a 1:07.83 in the 400 meters and Joanna Goldfarb ran the 800 meters in 2:46.74.
