Men’s volleyball cruises to a victory over New Haven

WEST HAVEN, CT- The SUNY New Paltz men’s volleyball team traveled to New Haven Thursday night and left with a three set victory. The Hawks defeated New Haven 33-31, 30-20, 30-22.

Peter Kazlas led New Haven with 12 kills, four digs and three assisted blocks and Gregg Brisbin chipped in with six kills and six digs. Ryan Eral handed out 23 assists and the Hawks held New Haven to a .137 hitting percentage on the game. New Haven falls to 4-12 overall on the season.

The Hawks were led by Daniel Liberto with a game-high 16 kills and had a hitting percentage of .600. Kevin Stross added 13 kills and three blocks and had a .381 hitting percentage. Andrew Cassius handed a game-high 36 assists and had seven digs. The Hawks hit .299 as a team.

The Hawks improve to 22-11 overall and return to the court tomorrow at non-conference opponent East Stroudsburg at 7 p.m. for their last regular season game.
