Men’s Volleyball Sweeps Yeshiva and Bard

The men’s volleyball team traveled to Yeshiva College on Sunday to compete in a tri-match with the Macabees and the Bard Raptors. The Hawks swept both teams to improve to 12-7 on the season and 4-1 in the NECVA metro division.

In the first match, New Paltz defeated Yeshiva 3-0 (30-11, 30-15, 30-12). Senior Ryan Huberty paced the attack with nine kills on 11 attempts with one error for a .727 hitting percentage. First year middle hitter Kevin Stross tallied eight kills and five blocks and senior Jake Moore totaled seven kills. Sophomore Andrew Cassius dished out 12 assists and seven service aces.

The Hawks swept Bard 3-0 (30-13, 30-20, 30-19) in the second match of the day. Junior Dan Liberto hit .590 percent on 14 kills and one error in 22 attempts. Moore finished with 10 kills and Huberty added nine kills and three aces. Cassius handed out 26 assists and seven digs.

New Paltz returns to action on Wednesday Feb. 25th when they host Ramapo at 7pm.
