Men’s Basketball Falls to Geneseo 70-60

The men’s basketball team traveled to Geneseo Friday night and fell to the Knights 70-60.

New Paltz (7-10) trailed by ten at the half, before battling to within one point at 47-46 with 9:51 left on a shot by Matt Hauser. Geneseo (11-6) responded with a 9-2 run over the next 3:28 to open the game. The Hawks came to within four points at 56-52, but that is as close as they would come.

Harris Wichard led the Hawks with 14 points and seven rebounds and Hauser finished with 14 points. Junior Lee Bertram added 12 points and eight rebounds and Oppong Agyemang chipped in with nine points and a game-high six assits.

The Hawks return to the court on Saturday when they travel to Brockport for a 4pm start.
