The State University of New York at New Paltz announces the arrival of a new vice president for finance and administration, Jacqueline S. DiStefano.
At New Paltz, DiStefano assumes the role of senior non-academic administrator and chief financial officer. Her responsibilities include overseeing the college’s operating and capital budgets, revenues, expenditures, business activities and debt, as well as being accountable for the financial viability and integrity of the college.
“DiStefano is a wise, practical and engaging person with a terrific background for her new post,” said College President Steven Poskanzer.
The following college units report to DiStefano: Accounting Services, Administrative Services, Auxiliary Services, Facilities Management, Environmental Health and Safety, Human Resources, Payroll, Procurement, Technology and Information Services, and Telecommunications.
DiStefano comes to New Paltz from the College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering at the University at Albany where, most recently, she was the assistant vice president and chief operational officer at CNSE. DiStefano was responsible for the college’s administrative, operational, human resources and finances, which included oversight of the college’s operational and capital budgets and its research and development contract portfolio. During her tenure at CNSE, she was part of the leadership team that supported the expansion of the college’s resources, including personnel, funding and the college’s state-of-the-art complex.
Prior to her association with the College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering, DiStefano also worked at the University at Albany as a director in the Office of Facilities and Physical Plant and in the Sponsored Funds Accounting Office.
In addition to her time at the University at Albany, DiStefano’s experience in the field of finance and administration includes positions at such institutions as Excelsior College in Albany and Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs. Prior to entering the field of higher education, she worked in the private sector as a financial consultant and accountant.
“I am excited to join the New Paltz community and look forward to working with the talented faculty, staff and students here to advance the many strengths of the institution,” said DiStefano.
