Men’s Volleyball Spilts on Day One of Endicott Tournament

The SUNY New Paltz men’s volleyball team traveled to Endicott College for the March Mania Tournament and went 1-1 in the first day of play. The Hawks fell to #14 MIT 3-1 (30-28, 33-31, 25-30, 31-29). Sophomore Alex Jackson led the attack with 19 kills, while junior Ryan Huberty chipped in with 12 kills and seven digs. Stephen Pendleton finished with 11 kills, 32 assists and two solo blocks and senior Pedro Medina tallied 20 digs.
In the second match of the day, New Paltz defeated #11 Medaille 3-1 (30-26, 30-27, 27-30, 30-23). Jackson and Huberty each finished with 12 kills and Dan Liberto registered seven kills, two solo blocks and five block assists. Pendleton handed out 15 assists and Andrew Cassius dished out 13, while Medina collected 13 digs.
New Paltz will continue play tomorrow at 10:00 am when they face #12 Rivier, followed by a 2:00 pm matchup against Endicott/D’Youville.
