Men’s Volleyball Falls to Elms and Newbury

CHICOPEE, MA — The men’s volleyball team participated in a tri-match with Elms and Newbury this afternoon. In the first match of the day, New Paltz fell to Newbury 3-1 (31-29, 25-30, 30-27, 30-23). Junior Ryan Huberty registered 16 kills to pace the attack. Alex Jackson totaled 13 kills and seven digs while Mark Blair finished with 10 kills and seven digs. Sophomore Stephen Pendleton handed out 36 assists and Pedro Medina collected 13 digs.
In the second match of the day, Pendleton registered a career high 21 kills and dished out 47 assists but it wasn’t enough as the Hawks fell to Elms 3-2 (30-26, 30-28, 27-30, 24-30, 15-13). Huberty, Jackson and Daniel Liberto each finished with 15 kills and Liberto added eight blocks. First year Andrew Cassius handed out 22 assists and Media tallied 17 digs.
New Paltz returns to action on Wednesday January 30th when they travel to Vassar at 7:00 pm.
