NEW PALTZ — Katie Becofsky has been named to the CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America Second Team for the College Division. Becofsky is the second SUNY New Paltz athlete to be honored. John Hauser received Third Team honors in the spring of 07 for men’s basketball.
Becofsky has maintained a 3.94 with a dual major in Psychology and Communication throughout her four years of excellence on the volleyball court. The senior received the honor of being named to the College Division Women’s Volleyball District I All-Academic first team by the College Sports Information Directors of America which put her on the ballot for this national recognition.
This past season, Becofsky was selected to the SUNYAC All-Tournament team for her efforts. She was also named the SUNYAC East Player of the Year for the second consecutive season and centered the attack with 1,269 assists and 425 digs.
