Women’s Volleyball at Brandeis Tournament

The women’s volleyball team traveled to the Brandeis Tournament this weekend and finished 2-1. On Friday night the Hawks defeated Gordon 3-2 (28-30, 30-23, 30-23, 24-20, 15-11). Senior Katie Becofsky finished with 59 assists, five kills and 12 digs. Senior Kim Braga totaled 16 kills and four blocks and junior Amanda Brown chipped in with 13 kills and 18 digs.
On Saturday, New Paltz won 3-0 over Plymouth State (30-25, 30-20, 30-21). Braga paced the attack with 11 kills and six blocks. Brown collected nine kills and 11 digs while Becofsky handed out 33 assists. The Hawks finished the weekend with a 3-1 loss to Brandeis (31-29, 27-30, 27-30, 17-30). Braga led the offense with 15 kills and three blocks and sophomore Brittany Coyle finished with ten kills and three blocks. Becofsky dished out 34 assists and ten digs. Braga and Brown earned all-tournament honors.
The Hawks (26-11) return to action on Thursday November 1st when they face Geneseo at the SUNYAC quarterfinals at 5pm in Cortland.
