Women’s Soccer Falls to Geneseo in OT

GENESEO, NY — The women’s soccer team traveled to Geneseo this afternoon and fell to the Knights 2-1 with five seconds left in the first overtime. Sophomore Jennifer Moretti put New Paltz on the board first at 52:05. Moretti scored on a direct kick, her third of the season, from just outside the penalty area. Geneseo netted the equalizer in the 79th minute when Melissa Beale scored off her own rebound. The Knights sealed the game in overtime on a goal by Eileen Coyle with the assist coming from Stephanie Bergin. Junior Sarah Boccard made eight saves for New Paltz as the Hawks fall to 4-4-2 on the season and 2-1-1 in SUNYAC. The Hawks travel to Brockport tomorrow to take on the Golden Eagles at 1:00 p.m.
