Hawks Serve up 8-1 Win over St. Mary’s (MD)

ST. MARY’S CITY, MD — The SUNY New Paltz women’s tennis team traveled to St. Mary’s City, MD and defeated the Seahawks 8-1. At number one singles, sophomore Dana Lim defeated Sarah Weisse 6-2, 6-2. Laura-Elizabeth Beirne defeated Michelle Compton 6-4, 6-4 in number two singles. Serving up at number three singles was senior Jennifer Larson who won 6-0 and 6-3 over Jessica Peterson. Lyndsey Lovinger was defeated in fourth singles by Sarah Pernick, 7-5, 1-6 (3-10). In number five singles Kathering Ketigian claimed the victory over Amanda Collins 6-0, 6-0. Rounding out the singles action at number six was Kerri Serkes who defeated Jerilyn Roglaski 7-6 (5-7), 6-0.
The Hawks swept the doubles action, behind an 8-2 victory from the number one team of Lim and and Lindsay Triiletti who defeated Weisse and Compton. At number two doubles the duo of Ketigian and Larson downed Peterson and Pernick, 8-3. Beirne and Lovinger soared past Collins and Katherine Garlock in number three doubles, 8-1.
