2006-07 Men’s Basketball Season Recap

NEW PALTZ, NY — In 2006-07, the men’s basketball team finished the season with an 11-14 record, the best record since 2002-03 (11-17). The team was led by Amseshem Foluke-Henderson, who averaged 18.5 points and 7.9 rebounds, and senior John Hauser who finished the year averaging 15.8 points and 6.1 boards. Junior Tony Cannon contributed 12.6 points and led the team with 68 steals and senior Matt Irwin led the conference in assists, finished the year with 114. For the first time since 2002-03, New Paltz had members earn All-Conference recognition. Foluke-Henderson was selected to the second team and Hauser garnered honorable mention. Hauser became the first SUNY New Paltz men’s basketball player selected to the CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America Third Team.
