Women’s Basketball Downs Plattsburgh, 59-43

PLATTSBURGH, NY — The SUNY New Paltz women’s basketball team continued their weekend in the north country Saturday afternoon and took on the Plattsburgh Cardinals. The Hawks kept their SUNYAC record perfect with a 59-43 win over the Cardinals.
First year Kristen Sitek led the way with 15 points on 5-of-7 from the floor, including 4-of-5 from the charity stripe and hauled down seven boards off the bench. Senior Jenny Driscoll finished with 12 points, shooting four of five from behind the arc. Maggie Farrell chipped in with 11 points and grabbed a team high nine rebounds. The New Paltz bench outscored the Plattsburgh bench 35-13.
The Hawks return to action next weekend for a pair of home SUNYAC contests. On Jan. 19th the SUNYIT Wildcats will be in town followed by the Geneseo Blue Knights on Jan. 20th. Both games will feature ‘Bring a Kid to the Game Night’, as kids 15 and under earn free admission.
