Hawks Remain Unbeaten in SUNYAC Play

POTSDAM, NY — The SUNY New Paltz women’s basketball team traveled to SUNY Potsdam to take on the Bears in their first SUNYAC game of 2007. The Hawks advanced to 8-3 overall and remained perfect in conference play at 4-0 with a 60-46 victory over the Bears.
The Hawks went to the free throw line 32 times and made 26 of their attempts to build their lead. First year Chelsea Clarke led New Paltz with 16 points and seven rebounds. Classmates Carly Minehan and Kristen Sitek added 11 points each. Senior Kerri Kelty haulded down a team high nine boards for the Hawks and dished out five assists. Minehan and junior Amber Sohns finished with seven rebounds each.
The Hawks return to action on Saturday afternoon when they take on the Plattsburgh Cardinals.
