Hawks Fall to Knights, 71-54

NEW PALTZ, NY — The SUNY New Paltz men’s basketball team hosted the Geneseo Knights Saturday night and dropped a 71-54 decision. The Knights jumped out to a quick eight point lead at 13:48 in the first but the Hawks battled back to find themselves down 33-30 before Matt Hauser hit a three pointer to end the half at a tie game. The second half saw the Hawks struggle and only tally seven points in the first 10 minutes, compared to Geneseo’s 25 points. The Knight’s 51.6% field goal shooting was too much for the Hawks to overcome.
Matt Hauser led the way with 15 points and five rebounds. John Hauser finished with 12 points and Tony Cannon added 10 points and six boards. Amseshem Foluke-Henderson grabbed a game high 10 rebounds.
The Hawks will face Geneseo next Friday in Geneseo.
