YORK, PA — The SUNY New Paltz women’s basketball team competed in the championship game of the Coaches vs Cancer Tournament hosted by York College at Pennsylvania on Saturday afternoon. The Hawks fell to Juniata 59-48 and drop to 1-1 on the season.
The Hawks trailed 32-12 at the half after shooting only 17.9% from the field compared to Juniata’s 39.4%. Senior Jenny Driscoll led the Hawks with 13 points, shooting 4-9 from the field including three baskets from beyond the arc. Junior Amber Sohns added nine points, and Christine Trupiano grabbed a team high seven boards.
Driscoll was named to the All-Tournament team for her performance over the weekend.
SUNY New Paltz will return to action on Tuesday, Nov. 28th when they travel to Union.
