Women’s Soccer Falls to Buffalo State 2-0

NEW PALTZ, NY — The women’s soccer team fell 2-0 to Buffalo State in a SUNYAC game on Friday at Coyer Field in Buffalo.

Buffalo State out shot the Hawks 12-7 in the game as New Paltz only registered two shots on goal.

Buffalo State opened the scoring on a one-timer by Tiffany Ebner (Penfield/Penfield) with assists from Mindy Wendt (Sanborn/Starpoint) and Kelsie Moran (Albany/Albany) in the 33rd minute.

Colleen O’Brien (Ctr. Moriches/Ctr. Moriches) added some insurance in the 50th minute with her first collegiate goal, redirecting a corner kick from Katie Lyons (Williamsville/Williamsville North).

Sarah Boccard (Washingtonville, NY) posted seven saves in net as the Hawks fall to 4-6-1 overall and 2-3 in SUNYAC play.

The Hawks will play Fredonia State tomorrow at 1 p.m. in Fredonia.
