NEW PALTZ, NY — Oneonta defeated Plattsburgh 64-34 this afternoon. With that result, the SUNY New Paltz women’s basketball team earns the eighth and final State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Championship Tournament seed.
SUNY New Paltz will travel to Cortland on Tuesday, February 21, to challenge the top seeded Red Dragons in a quarterfinals competition. The women’s basketball team’s last appearance in the SUNYAC Championship Tournament came in the 2003-2004 season. SUNY New Paltz fell to Oneonta 69-58. The Hawks earned the head-to-head advantage over Plattsburgh after defeating the Cardinals last night, February 17, 48-42.
