SUNY New Paltz Field Hockey Opens a New Chapter Under Kulesa

NEW PALTZ, NY — The SUNY New Paltz Field Hockey team opens up the 2005 season with a clean slate. On May 12, 2005, SUNY New Paltz named Jessica Kulesa as the new head coach of the Field Hockey program. Kulesa was an assistant at Hartwick College prior to her appointment at SUNY New Paltz where she will enter her first head coaching position and she is very excited about the possibilities the 2005 season may hold.

Coach Kulesa is impressed with the unity and quality of effort that surrounds her on the Field Hockey team. Though they may lack a deep bench, she feels their endurance and perseverance will carry them through the season. Kulesa and the team plan to take this season day-by-day with the thought in mind that anything is possible.

The Hawks bring in three newcomers to a squad that finished last season in second place in the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC). They ended the 2004 season 8-12 overall, with a 3-2 conference record.

Coach Kulesa hopes to get this yearýs team to the level of play they saw last season and trusts that the strong team atmosphere surrounding her team will perpetuate them to a successful 2005.
