Hawks Win in Five; Winning Streak Reaches Seven

NEW PALTZ, NY — Led by 16 kills from senior Chris Ganje (Halfmoon, NY) the SUNY New Paltz men’s volleyball team defeated East Stroudsburg 3-2 this evening. The victory helped the Hawks avenge a 3-2 loss to the Warriors on January 27 at SUNY New Paltz.

The Hawks (24-9) fell 30-26 in the opening game but won games two and three 30-27 and 31-29. East Stroudsburg pulled even in game four winning 30-25 before the Hawks prevailed 15-13.

Junior Ryan Bullard (Hauppauge, NY) added nine kills, three digs and six blocks to help the Hawks earn their seventh, five-game victory this season.

The Hawks wrapped their regular season having won their last seven matches. SUNY New Paltz will now prepare the NECVA-Metro Division Tournament this weekend at Ramapo College. The Hawks are seeded fifth in the tournament and will play 12th-seeded Brooklyn College at 8:00 p.m.
