Masterson Completes Three-Day Run at Nationals

NEW PALTZ, NY — SUNY New Paltz junior Joanna Masterson (Canandaigua, NY — Canandaigua Academy) competed in the 100-yard freestyle on the third and final day of the NCAA Division III Women’s Swimming & Diving Championship at Hope College in Holland, Michigan.

In this morning’s preliminary round, Masterson finished 27th with a time of :53.91. Masterson did not qualify for this evening’s finals that will feature the top 16 finishers from today’s preliminary round. A total of 38 swimmers competed in the 100-yard freestyle.

The top performance in the preliminary round came from Marie Marsman of Carleton College who had a time of :50.37. Katherine Burt of Wheaton was the 16th and final swimmer to make the finals of the 100-yard freestyle with a time of :53.18.

This evening’s finals will be held at 6:30 p.m.
