Improvisational comedy troupe brings show to SUNY New Paltz

NEW PALTZ — The State University of New York at New Paltz Office of Student Activities will host The Second City comedy troupe at 9 p.m. on Wednesday, March 16 in Studley Theatre.

The Second City is an improvisational comedy troupe made up of six rising stars. The format of the troupe’s is similar to the popular television comedy program hosted by Drew Carey, “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” Former cast members of The Second City include: Mike Meyers, Joan Rivers, Bill Murray, Gilda Radner, John Candy and Chris Farley.

The performance will consist of two, 45-minute acts with a 15-minute intermission, followed by an informal improvisational set involving audience participation. The show is designed for individuals of high school age and older – it is recommended for mature audiences.

The event is open to the public and tickets are $3 in advance at the college’s Student Union Building (SUB) information booth or $5 at the door. Doors open at 8:15 p.m.
