Hawks Route Randolph Macon 22-13

ASHLAND, VA — The SUNY New Paltz baseball team exploded for 22 runs in a 22-13 win over Randolph Macon in the first of a three-game, weekend series.

Junior Vinny McAdams (Little Falls, NY) went 4-for-6, hit for the cycle and drove in four runs to help lead the Hawks (1-3) to their first win of the 2005 campaign.

Sophomore Justin Buonomano (Royersford, PA) added three hits, a homer and six runs batted in.

Leading 15-10 after eight innings, the Hawks added seven in the ninth inning to pull away.

Freshman Jason Solotaroff (Wappingers Falls, NY) started and went four plus innings. Junior Joe Gugliotta (Miller Place, NY) picked up the win in the relief.

SUNY New Paltz and Randolph-Macon will wrap up their series tomorrow with a doubleheader begining at 11 a.m. Sophomore Ryan Schafer (Oceanside, NY) and junior Trevor Bailey (W. Hurley, NY) will throw for the Hawks.
