SUNY New Paltz Women’s Basketball Team Evens Record at 3-3

BUFFALO, NY — The SUNY New Paltz women’s basketball team improved their record to an even 3-3 with a 62-51 win over conference rival Buffalo State this afternoon.

Freshman center Christine Trupiano (Massapequa, NY) led the way for the Hawks with a career high 22 points. Sophomore guard Kristin Jackson (East Islip, NY) also finished the afternoon with a career high, adding 17 points of her own. Freshman guard Amber Sohns (Delhi, NY) dished out six assists to help SUNY New Paltz (3-3, 2-1) to victory.

Junior guard Tawan Slaughter (Buffalo, NY) finished with 14 points to lead the Bengals(2-4, 0-2) in scoring.

The Hawks finished out their first road weekend of conference play 1-1 to set their State University of New York Athletic Conference, SUNYAC, record at 2-1.
