SUNY New Paltz Men’s Soccer Team Falls 5-0 to Richard Stockton

NEW PALTZ, NY — The SUNY New Paltz men’s soccer team was unable to keep their five-game winning streak alive, suffering a 5-0 loss to Richard Stockton this afternoon.

The Ospreys controlled the game from the opening kickoff. Ten minutes into the contest freshman forward Jeremy Cohen (Atco, NJ) scored his first goal of the day on a pass from freshman midfielder A.J. Colubiale (Cape May, NJ). Then in the 36th-minute, freshman midfielder Eric Lewis (Dover, DE) was awarded a penalty shot which he knocked past sophomore goalie Jake Lammers (Highland, NY) to give the Ospreys a 2-0 halftime lead.

Richard Stockton (12-3) continued to play aggressive soccer and was rewarded with three second-half goals. Senior midfielder Dowaine Green (Neptune, NJ) added the next two Osprey goals on lobs from Cohen and freshman forward Matt Lewis (Bear, DE). Cohen added the final goal in the 65th-minute to give the Ospreys the 5-0 victory.

In relief, Hawk (7-9) senior goalie Alan Kuusisto (Pelham, MA) recorded five saves in the final thirty minutes of play.
