Foss Takes SUNYAC Player of the Week Honor

NEW PALTZ, NY — SUNY New Paltz sophomore forward Greg Foss (Queensbury, NY — Lake George HS) was named the Player of the Week in the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) this afternoon.

Foss scored three goals and had one assist in two conference wins for the Hawks over the weekend. He scored the opening goal of the game in a 3-2 win at SUNY Cortland on Friday (Oct. 8) and followed that performance up with a two-goal, one-assist effort in a 5-1 victory at Oswego the next day (Oct. 9).

A transfer from St. Anselm College, Foss has started all 13 games this season and leads the team in goals (6) and points (16).

With a 5-3 record and 15 points in conference play, SUNY New Paltz shares the top spot in the SUNYAC standings with Buffalo State. The Hawks will play their final conference game of the regular season at home on Oct. 20 against SUNY IT.

SUNY New Paltz, 5-8 overall, will play at New York University (6-2-2) on Tuesday (Oct. 12) at 7:00 p.m. and will host Skidmore (7-5) on Saturday (Oct. 16) at 1:00 p.m.
