NEW PALTZ — The SUNY New Paltz Department of Music and Asian Studies Program present an engaging evening of world music by Ensemble Beijing, a nine-member Chinese instrumental group performing Saturday, October 2, at 8:00 p.m., in McKenna Theatre.
The evening’s program will include court music, as well as traditional and newly composed works performed by some of the finest Chinese musicians. Arrive early, at 7:00 p.m., and sit in on a pre-concert discussion with members of the ensemble offering background on the instruments and their musical vocabulary. Tickets for the performance are $8 adult, $5 seniors, $3 students.
