SUNY New Paltz Men’s Basketball Team Loses 85-54 to Oswego State

OSWEGO, NY — Freshman Amseshem Foluke-Henderson (Jamaica, NY) scored a team-high 16 points on 7-of-13 shooting for New Paltz, which lost 85-54 to Oswego State this evening.

The Hawks trailed 39-23 at halftime and weren’t able to make a surge in the second half as New Paltz dropped to 5- 13 overall and 3-8 in the SUNYAC.

Oswego State (12-6, 6-4) was led offensively by sophomore Ahmad Mims (Syracuse, NY) who poured in a game-high 23 points. He shot 8-of-15 from the floor and was 4-of-6 from behind the arc. Junior Dave Ponza (Solvay, NY) chipped in 13 points and seven rebounds.

Senior Steve Ott (New Paltz, NY) had four points and a game- high 10 rebounds while sophomore Jonathan Carter (Mount Vernon, NY) had eight points and four rebounds off the bench for New Paltz.

The Hawks return to action on Friday, February 6th when they host SUNYAC foe Plattsburgh State. The tip-off is set for 8:00 pm.
