Thesis Exhibitions at Dorsky Museum in December

Emerging artists who are candidates for a Master of Fine Arts (M.F.A.) or a Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) degree will present their creative thesis projects in two separate shows in The Chandler Gallery of the Samuel Dorsky Museum of Art December 5 – 17, 2003 at SUNY New Paltz.

Thesis projects, completed during the final year of study, are exhibited in a formal museum environment. These popular and challenging exhibitions are designed and installed by the graduating students in consultation with faculty advisors and museum staff.

Show I runs from December 5 – 10, and will open with an opening reception with the artists on Friday, December 5th from 6-8:00 pm.

Show II runs from December 12th – 17th with an opening reception with the artists on Friday, December 12th from 6-8:00 p.m.

For over half a century, SUNY New Paltz has been widely recognized for its professional art programs, and its distinguished faculty of practicing artists who help students pursue creative interests and prepare for careers in the various art disciplines. In all programs, students are encouraged to explore new lines of investigation in their field, and assess their work within a contemporary context.

Special museum hours for the M.F.A./B.F.A shows are Saturday through Wednesday 1:00-5:00 p.m. During these exhibitions, the museum will be closed on Thursdays and Fridays with the exception of receptions. Additional information may be obtained by calling 845-257-3844.
