NEW PALTZ, NY — The Geneseo women s soccer team exploded for five first half goals and went on to post a 9-0 victory over SUNY New Paltz this afternoon.
The Knights (5-2-3, 3-0-0) remained perfect in SUNYAC play behind an attack that produced three goals in the first 13 minutes of the game. Nicole Santariello (Fairport, NY) scored five and a half minutes into the game on an assist by Logan Hadzicki (Portville,NY), to give Geneseo an early 1-0 lead. Santariello would score again in the second half on a breakaway. Hadzicki, who leads Geneseo with seven goals and three assists, had a stellar performance this afternoon, scoring two goals and assisting on another to propel the Knights to the victory.
The Knights outshot the Hawks 31-2 today and New Paltz goalie Maggie Fenton (East Meadow, NY) had 12 saves. Geneseo has outscored its SUNYAC opponents 19-0 in its first three conference games.
