Walters Named Team MVP

NEW PALTZ, NY — Randy Walters was named baseball’s Most Valuable Player at the SUNY New Paltz Athletic Banquet May 7th.

Walters, a senior second baseman, led the Hawks in hits (39) this season and was tied for second in batting average (.333) and third in runs scored (21).

In conference games, Walters average rose to .345 and he had a team-best 19 hits.

Baseball went 8-26 this season overall and 4-10 in the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC).
