Van Wyen Named Men’s Soccer MVP

NEW PALTZ, NY — Tim Van Wyen was named Most Valuable Player of the men’s soccer team for the third consecutive season at the SUNY New Paltz Athletic Banquet May 7th.

Van Wyen, a senior defender, was a second team all-league selection for the third straight year. He started all 19 games and had career highs in goals (3) and points (7), including the game-tying goal with under five minutes to play in a 3-2 win over Rhode Island and the game-winner in the championship clinching-victory over King’s College in the Mid-Hudson Classic.

The SUNY New Paltz men’s soccer team finished the year with an overall record of 5-13-1 this fall.
