Pastore Named Women’s Soccer MVP

NEW PALTZ, NY — Lauren Pastore was named team the Most Valuable Player at the New Paltz Athletic Banquet May 7th.

Pastore, a sophomore defender, was the team’s fourth- leading scorer, netting four goals this season and assisted on one. Two of Pastore’s four goals were game-winning tallies, with one coming against SUNY Farmingdale in a 9-0 win, and another against Russell Sage in a 2-0 victory three days later.

The SUNY New Paltz women’s soccer team had an overall record of 8-13 this season and finished in seventh place with a 4-6 mark in the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC). The Hawks were one of six teams to qualify for the New York State Women’s Collegiate Athletic Association (NYSWCAA) Tournament and were defeated by Manhattanville 2-1 in the opening round.
