Men’s Tennis Team Finishes its Season With Six Straight Wins

NEW PALTZ, NY — The New Paltz men’s tennis team closed out its season with a 6-1 win over Stevens Tech this afternoon at New Paltz. The Hawks finished their season with six straight wins to end the year with a 10-4 mark.

New Paltz swept the doubles competition and won five of the six singles matches to claim the victory. Stevens Tech dropped to 8-6 with the loss.

Singles #1 Tiberu Tiran (NP) lost to Javier Artola (S) 4-6, 2-6. #2 Brad Breakstone (NP) defeated David Asis (S) 6-2, 6-1. #3 Bobby Calise (NP) defeated Steve Sauser (S) 7-6 (7-4), 6-2. #4 Nick Finger (NP) defeated Aviel Kemelman (S) 6-1, 6-2. #5 Brian Palmenteri (NP) defeated Yuriy Stelmakh (S) 4-6, 6-3, 10-7. #6 Josh Greenspan (NP) defeated Ryan Telford (S) 6-1, 6-1.

Doubles #1 Tiran/Breakstone (NP) defeated Artola/Asis (S) 8-4. #2 Finger/Calise (NP) defeated Kemelman/Stelmakh (S) 8-4. #3 Greenspan/Jason Letts (NP) defeated Telford/Pete Pibulsonggram (S) 8-1.
