Baldwin, Bizzarro Earn Team MVP Honors

NEW PALTZ, NY — Kim Baldwin and Lisa Bizzarro, both of Lindenhurst, NY, were named women’s lacrosse Co-Most Valuable Players at the

SUNY New Paltz Athletic Banquet May 7th. Baldwin, a senior defender, started all 12 games for the Hawks. She recovered a team-best 32 groundballs and caused 13 turnovers this season.

For her efforts, Baldwin was named to the All-State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) women’s lacrosse second team, becoming the first women’s lacrosse player in the program’s six-year history to receive all-league honors.

Bizzarro, also a senior, was the Hawks’ goalkeeper for the entire season despite never playing in goal before. She started all 12 games between the pipes making 116 saves, including nine in an 8-6 victory over Wells College.

The women’s lacrosse team finished up the 2003 season 1-11.
