OSWEGO, NY — In a game between two squads battling for the final SUNYAC playoff berth, the Oswego Lakers outlasted New Paltz Friday night 63-56.
The Lakers hit 11 three-point baskets on the night and shot 44% from behind the arc. Jackie Luszczek (Ithaca, NY) and Christine Roth (Buffalo, NY) came off the bench to combine for 30 points for the winners, including nine three-pointers. Nicole Fergusen (Syracuse, NY) and Lauren Vesnaver (Flushing, NY) were also in double figures for Oswego with 13 and 12, respectively.
Kim Weigel (Whitestone, NY) scored 16 points to pace the Hawks. Colleen Kelly (Hyde Park, NY) added 10.
New Paltz (7-14, 2-10) remains alive in the hunt for the final playoff berth with four upcoming SUNYAC games. The Hawks will take on Buffalo State tomorrow at 2:00 p.m.
