SUNYAC Champion Women’s Tennis Team to be Honored Feb. 7

NEW PALTZ – — The SUNY New Paltz women’s tennis team will be honored in Elting Gymnasium on Feb. 7 following the 6:00 p.m. women’s basketball game between New Paltz and Oneonta.

The team will be recognized for winning the 2002 SUNYAC (State University of New York Athletic Conference) Championship in October. At that time a banner, which will hang in the Elting Gymnasium, will be unveiled to signify the program’s first conference championship.

The Hawks went 13-3 during the fall and ran away from the 10-team field at the SUNYAC Championship. The Hawks claimed four SUNYAC titles in the singles competition and two more in doubles.

In addition, head coach Rob Bruley was named the SUNYAC Coach of the Year.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, the SUNY New Paltz men’s basketball team will play Oneonta.
