NEW PALTZ – — SUNY New Paltz junior Becky Sparacin (Goshen, NY – Goshen Central) has been named to the New York State Women’s Collegiate Athletic Association (NYSWCAA) all-state women’s tennis team.
Sparacin earned a spot on the singles honorable mention team after winning the number two singles flight at the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Championship in October.
Sparacin, who went 14-1 in dual matches for the Hawks this fall, won her first 12 singles matches of the season before suffering a three-set loss to Diya Uberoi of Vassar on Oct. 2.
She also teamed with sophomore Kerry Farrell to go 14-2 and win the number one doubles flight at the conference championship.
The SUNY New Paltz women’s tennis team went 13-3 to set the program’s single-season record for dual matches won. The team also captured its first-ever conference championship.
