Women’s Swimming and Diving Teams Defeat Vassar 117-108

NEW PALTZ, NY — The SUNY New Paltz women’s swimming and diving teams defeated local rival Vassar college 117-108. With the victory, the Hawks improve their dual meet record to 2-2 this season.The Hawks jumped out to an early lead winning the first five events. Danielle Lindner and Mallory Grempel each won two events for the Hawks and a relay team consisting of Scarlet Duba, Meghan O’Brien, Joanna Masterson, and Lindner won the 400 Medley. For Vassar, Maria Hooper won the 1 meter dive while Devon Chen took first in the 100 freestyle.

SUNY New Paltz Women’s Swimming/Diving Highlights:

Danielle Lindner won the 200 freestyle (2:02:05) and the 200 backstroke (2:14:18)

Mallory Grempel won the 200 IM (2:19:87) and the 200 breast stroke (2:38:25)

Kathryn MacCrate won the 3 meter dive (189.60)
