Hawks Compete at Union Relays

SCHENECTADY, NY – — The SUNY New Paltz men’s and women’s swimming teams competed at the Union Relays this afternoon. The men’s squad finished fourth among five teams with 82 points while the women’s squad finished second among a field of six with 92 points.

The women’s squad was only bettered by Coast Guard who won the event with 130 points. The SUNY New Paltz women’s swimming team finished ahead of Hartwick who came in fourth with 70 points. Hartwick defeated the Hawks 126-111 in a dual meet last week.

Men’s Final Scores: 1) Hartwick 114, 2) Union 100, 3) Coast Guard 94, 4) SUNY New Paltz 82, 5) Vassar 36.

Women’s Final Scores: 1) Coast Guard 130, 2) SUNY New Paltz 92, 3) Union 80, 4) Hartwick 70, 5) Vassar 58, 6) Skidmore 14.

SUNY New Paltz Highlights at Union Relays:

Men – Jon Amoia, Kent Yeung, and Jeff Galaise won the 3×100 breaststroke with a time of 3:09.12.

Yeung, Galaise, and Jon Sousa won the 3×200 IM with a time of 6:16.99.

Women – Danielle Lindner, Molly Soule, and Andrea Ditter won the 3×100 backstroke with a time of 3:12.58.

Soule, Lindner, Jaime Parrotte, and Joanna Masterson won the crescendo relay with a time of 4:57.89.

Masterson, Soule, Lindner, and Mallory Grempel won the 400 free relay in 3:48.15
