New Paltz Defeats Ramapo for 11th Straight Win

NEW PALTZ — The SUNY New Paltz women’s tennis team raised its winning streak to 11 with an 8-1 victory over Ramapo this afternoon at New Paltz. The Hawks are now one win away from tying the program’s record for victories in a single-season (12) set a year ago. The 2001 SUNY New Paltz women’s tennis team had a 12-5 record.

SUNY New Paltz (11-1) swept the doubles competition and Amie Larson (Port Jervis, NY) and Becky Sparacin (Goshen, NY) each improved to 11-0 in dual match singles competition. Larson defeated Tina Muller 6-1, 6-2 while Sparacin knocked off Marissa Anderson 6-0, 6-1. Jen Neumann (Port Jervis, NY) also remained undefeated and is now 10-0 following a 6-3, 6-2 win over Kylan Tokarz.
