Hawks Spilt With Farmingdale, Mount St. Mary

NEW PALTZ — The SUNY New Paltz women’s volleyball team got their second victory of the season Saturday against Farmingdale 3-1 (30-24, 26-30, 30-19, 30-22) but fell in their second match of the afternoon to Mount St. Mary 3-1 (21-30, 30-19, 27-30, 23-30).

In their first match, the Hawks split the first two games before pulling away from the Rams. Andrea Kaiser (Blue Point, NY) paced the Hawks with 10 kills, and 11 digs while Jennifer Hollis (Livingston, NJ) had 15 assists and Kelly Long (Endwell, NY) had 15 digs.

In the second match, the Blue Knights from Mount St. Mary outlasted the Hawks in four games. Katy Jerome (Syracuse, NY) led New Paltz in kills with 10 followed by Jackie Goldstein’s (Port Jervis, NY) eight. Kaiser had eight kills and seven digs while Christina Mazurowski (Tonawanda, NY) added seven kills, five blocks.
