Hawks Lose Second Straight in OT

SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY — The New Paltz Hawks lost their second consecutive game in overtime Saturday to Skidmore 2-1. Jeff Mitchell scored from Matt Naventi eight minutes into the extra session to give the Thoroughbreds their first victory of the year.

Charlie Smith put Skidmore up 1-0 when he converted a cross from Dan McLean at 32:29 of the first half. Matt Daum tied the game at 68:08 and both teams traded several chances in regulation before Mitchell’s goal in overtime.

Rollie Kielman had eight saves for Skidmore while Kevin Smith had seven for the Hawks.
