Hawks Compete in NYU Invitational

NEW YORK, NY — The SUNY New Paltz women’s volleyball team dropped five matches in two days at the New York University Invitational.

On Friday, New Paltz lost to host NYU 3-0 (16-30, 17-30, 19-30) and Gwynedd Mercy 3-1 (22-30, 27-30, 30-24, 26-30).

Saturday saw the Hawks fall to RIT 3-0 (14-30, 7-30, 25-30), Pace 3-0 (11-30, 15-30, 20-30), and Johns Hopkins 3-1 (17-30, 16-30, 30-28, 12-30).

Jackie Goldstein (Port Jervis, NY) led the Hawks in kills for the weekend with 30. Christina Mazurowski (Tonawanda, NY) contributed 20.

Jennifer Hollis (Livingston, NJ) was New Paltz’s assist leader with 35. Hollis also had 20 digs.

Denee Miggins (Kingston, NY) paced the team in digs finishing the tournament with 40 and Christina Butcher (North Salem, NY) added 29.

New Paltz is now 1-13 on the year.
