Brockport Drops New Paltz 4-2

NEW PALTZ — Sal Santoro scored on a breakaway at 67:06 of the second half to break a 2-2 tie and Mark Maleski added an insurance goal eleven minutes later as the visiting Golden Eagles of Brockport downed the New Paltz Hawks 4-2. The victory keeps Brockport unbeaten in the SUNYAC at 3-0 while the Hawks slip to 0-3.

New Paltz got on the board first on a nice give and go from Matt Daum to Mario Lavacca 28:49 into the game. Brockport tied it on Greg Dini’s volley at 33:27 and took the lead less than three minutes later on Matt Waddington’s header.

New Paltz tied the score at two early in the second half when Lavacca intercepted and finished Brockport goalkeeper Shane Sutton’s clearance.

Kevin Smith made seven saves for New Paltz in the goal and Sutton made one.
