Men’s Volleyball Splits Sunday Games

NEW PALTZ — The New Paltz men’s volleyball team split games against D’Youville and NYU Saturday at Elting Gym to bring their season record to 7-8.

In the first match, the Hawks blew past the visiting Spartans of D’Youville in three straight games 30-22, 30- 26, and 30-26. Jim Cramer (New Oxford, PA) led a balanced New Paltz attack with a double-double finishing with 10 kills, and 11 assists. In total the Hawks had six players with at least 6 kills and five players with at least 6 digs.

In the Hawks’ second match of the day against NYU, the Violets cruised to victory in three straight games 30-13, 30-21, 30-23. Mike La Rocco (Hauppauge, NY) had 7 kills and Beau Warren (Canandaigua, NY) had 21 assists in the match.

New Paltz will next travel to MIT and Harvard next Saturday for afternoon matches.
